Saraswati’s Yoga Joint

Saraswati’s Yoga Joint is a yoga studio in South Norwalk, CT with more than two decades of history and a strong, deeply rooted community.

The studio came to me during a period of transition, looking to reinvigorate its visual identity and create a new website that better reflected who SYJ is today. The goal wasn't to reinvent the brand, but to clarify and strengthen what was already there: the studio's history, personality, philosophy, and commitment to thoughtful, accessible yoga.

The new identity builds on the existing SYJ logo and lotus imagery with a vibrant, grounded color palette and a refined visual system. The website brings that identity to life while making it easier for students to find classes, explore programs, discover workshops and training, and connect with the broader SYJ community.

The Brand

The goal was evolution, not reinvention. We preserved recognizable elements of the SYJ identity while creating a more cohesive visual language for the studio moving forward.

The new palette combines Sacred Plum and Elemental Teal with softer supporting colors, creating a balance of strength, warmth, and energy. The lotus remains central to the identity, connecting the refreshed brand to SYJ's history and philosophy.

The Website

The new Squarespace website was designed to make the SYJ experience easier to understand and navigate, while giving the studio a flexible foundation for everything from daily classes to teacher training, workshops, private yoga, and community programs.

Clearer navigation, simplified content, custom page layouts, mobile optimization, and custom CSS bring the brand together across the site.

The result is a website that feels distinctly SYJ: knowledgeable without being intimidating, welcoming without being generic, and rooted in its history while looking ahead.

Beyond the Website

As part of the project, I also designed branded covers for SYJ's teacher training and practice immersion programs, extending the visual identity into the studio's educational offerings.

The new brand and website give SYJ a stronger foundation for the next chapter while staying true to what has made the studio a part of the community for more than 20 years.
